Secret Spot Hot Tubs is forest bathing at its finest. Soak in your own western red cedar hot tub surrounded by native ferns, overlooking the stunning Whakarewarewa Forest and Puarenga Stream. Guests can enjoy a revitalizing soak with drinks delivered directly to their hot tub at the push of a button.

With fresh forest spring water that is heated to a toasty 39.9 degrees Celsius, our hot tubs promote wellness and recovery, accommodating up to six people. Everything is beautifully handcrafted, from the locally sourced food and drink to the hand-woven kete baskets that carry them to the hot tubs.

We are known for our revolutionary cedar foot hot tubs called Shinny Dips, complimentary with any purchase. With a lush forest setting and magical atmosphere, Secret Spot is created with relaxation, wellbeing, and friendship in mind.

You'll relax with a 45-minute hot tub soak beside the forest, with craft drinks delivered to you from the cash bar, and complimentary cold plunge tubs. Stay a while and unwind in a free Shinny Dip foot hot tub, experience our BaseCamp craft bar and street food kitchen, play giant lawn games or snuggle up beside a campfire in our luxe glamping tent.

Hot tubs are spaced 8 metres apart. We recommend you watch the video of the experience.

Instructions

• Bookings can be rescheduled up to 4 hours before your reservation, but cancellation requires 12 hours notice.
• Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult.
• Guests may bring their own swimwear and towels, or these can be hired from reception for $5 per item.
• Hot tubs are booked for a 45-minute soak time. Guests are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled booking time to allow time to check in and change into swimwear.

Restrictions

• Alcohol, food and drink may not be brought onto the premises. Secret Spot is a non-smoking and vaping facility.
• Children under 5 years are not allowed in our hot tubs due to health and safety reasons.
• No more than 6 people per tub, including kids.
• We do not recommend pregnant guests soak in our hot tubs, or those with restricted mobility ( to access our hot tubs, guests must cross a small swing bridge, climb three steps up to the hot tub, and be able to swing their leg over the side. • Craft drinks can be purchased from the cash bar and are delivered to the hot tubs. After their soak, guests can purchase and enjoy some tasty street food and a free Shinny Dip foot hot tub.
